Tour Plan
Upon arrival at Baltra Airport, transfer to the Itabaca Channel, cross by ferry to Santa Cruz Island, and continue by private vehicle to Puerto Ayora.
We recommend flights arriving before 11:30 AM to make the most of your day.
Begin your adventure in the highlands of Santa Cruz, a lush and fertile region characterized by rolling hills, dense forests, and cooler temperatures compared to the coastal areas. Visit the Twin Craters, striking volcanic formations surrounded by rich vegetation and home to a variety of endemic birds, providing an excellent introduction to the unique ecosystems of the Galápagos.
Continue to a highland ranch to observe giant tortoises roaming freely in their natural habitat. Learn about the important conservation programs that have helped restore these iconic creatures to the islands. The highlands are also home to farms, small ponds, and native plants, offering a glimpse into both the natural and agricultural life of Santa Cruz.
Lunch in Highlands.
Return to your hotel for overnight stay on Santa Cruz Island.
Early in the morning, transfer to the pier for a 6:00 AM departure to Isabela Island aboard the fast public boat. Upon arrival at Puerto Villamil, explore Concha Perla, a stunning natural snorkeling spot. This calm, protected lagoon allows you to swim alongside sea lions, penguins, sea turtles, marine iguanas, and a wide variety of colorful fish an unforgettable introduction to Isabela’s marine life.
Lunch not included.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat excursion to the Tintoreras Islets. Along the way, spot pelicans, penguins, and the rare blue-footed booby. Upon landing, take a guided walk across volcanic lava fields, where marine iguanas bask in the sun. In a tidal crevice, you may even see resting white-tip reef sharks rarely stationary in the wild gliding motionless along the seabed. A small viewpoint provides the perfect opportunity for close observation and photography.
Return to Puerto Villamil and overnight stay at your selected hotel.
After breakfast, embark on an unforgettable excursion to the Tintoreras Lava Tunnels, a true marine paradise. Snorkel in crystal-clear waters among dramatic lava formations, shaped over millions of years when volcanic flows cooled on the outside while remaining molten inside, forming natural tunnels now sculpted by time and the sea.
The tunnels are teeming with marine life: swim alongside white-tip reef sharks, sea turtles, sea lions, penguins, giant manta rays, seahorses, and schools of colorful fish, while spotting blue-footed boobies above the water.
After snorkeling, enjoy time to relax on a pristine beach, where you can sunbathe, walk along the shoreline, or simply admire the stunning coastal scenery. The combination of volcanic rock, vibrant marine life, and the serene beach setting makes this a truly unforgettable experience.
Lunch not included. Return to your hotel for overnight stay on Isabela Island.
After breakfast, transfer from Isabela Island to Santa Cruz Island (Puerto Ayora) by public speed boat. Upon arrival, visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, a world-renowned center dedicated to the conservation of the Galápagos’ unique wildlife. Explore its giant tortoise breeding programs, learn about the restoration of endangered species, and discover the ongoing research and conservation efforts that help protect the islands’ fragile ecosystems.
In the afternoon, enjoy leisure time to stroll along Charles Darwin Avenue, browse local shops, cafés, and galleries, or visit the lively Puerto Ayora fish market, where sea lions, pelicans, and other wildlife gather a vibrant and unforgettable scene. Return to your hotel for overnight stay on Santa Cruz Island.
After breakfast, transfer to the Itabaca Channel for embarkation on your full-day yacht tour. Depending on availability, you will visit one of the following islands:
BARTOLOMÉ
Bartolomé is one of the youngest islands in the archipelago, covering 1.2 km². Hike to the top of its volcanic summit for one of the most iconic views in the Galápagos, including Pinnacle Rock, surrounding islands, and its two pristine beaches. Lunch on board.
In the afternoon, enjoy a wet landing on a beach (the dinghy will drop you a few meters from shore). A short walk-through shallow water leads to the beach before returning to Santa Cruz.
NORTH SEYMOUR
Noth Seymour, a small 1.9 km² island near Baltra with a maximum altitude of 28 meters, is covered in shrubland and hosts significant colonies of blue-footed boobies and swallow-tailed gulls. Enjoy a dry landing, a guided walk, and observation of the island’s unique wildlife. Lunch on board. Return to Santa Cruz for overnight stay.
SOUTH PLAZA
South Plaza Island, 0.13 km² in size with an altitude of 23 meters, is known for its red vegetation, land iguanas, sea lions, and swallow-tailed gulls. One side of the island overlooks calm waters ideal for snorkeling, while the other faces dramatic cliffs and strong surf. Lunch on board. Return to Santa Cruz for overnight stay.
SANTA FÉ
Santa Fé (Barrington), 24 km² with an altitude of 259 meters, is home to Opuntia and Palo Santo cactus forests, a colony of sea lions, ground iguanas, and lava lizards. Its lagoon is frequented by turtles, and calm waters provide excellent snorkeling opportunities. Lunch on board. Return to Santa Cruz for overnight stay.
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning on Santa Cruz Island before your transfer to Baltra Airport for your departure. This marks the end of your Galápagos adventure and services.
